The Maples group, comprised of local firms Maples and Calder and MaplesFS, will be sponsoring a significant educational event for one of the country’s most recent compliance initiatives.
The ‘CRS 101’ seminar is organised by local consulting firm FTS and will be held at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman on Tuesday April 11th.
FTS Director, Mr. Paul Byles, said “It’s great to have the expertise of Maples on board for this event. The participation of experts from Maples and Calder as well as MaplesFS on the agenda, coupled with the session being delivered by Mr Duncan Nicols, Director of the DITC, brings all the CRS preparation topics together very well.”
The Common Reporting Standard (CRS) was recently introduced to the Cayman Islands and the seminar is being organised to help local firms prepare for the initiative.
“We feel this event will be helpful for local financial services firms looking to fine tune their preparations for CRS,” Mr. Christopher Capewell, Partner at Maples and Calder, said.
Mr. Capewell will be presenting alongside MaplesFS Senior Vice Presidents Michelle Bailey and William Chisholm, offering expert insights from both a legal as well as a hands-on operational perspective.
“The Maples group has worked closely with the Cayman Islands government and relevant industry associations on the implementation of both FATCA and CRS in the Cayman Islands. As a result, we are uniquely placed to share our expertise with the attendees at this event on how best to prepare themselves for upcoming requirements,” Mr. Capewell said.
